“GCMHP continues to conduct "Supporting Supporters" sessions to enhance the well-being of humanitarian workers”

  • Previews 28

GCMHP conducted a "Supporting Supporters" session with professionals working in GCMHP's community centers, along with a number of specialized professionals from partner organizations. This session was part of the "Provision of Lifesaving Integrated Protection Support for Vulnerable Children and Adults in Gaza and the West Bank" project, funded by the European Union Humanitarian Aid in partnership with War Child.

These sessions aim to enhance the resilience and psychological strength of humanitarian workers and psychosocial support providers by providing a safe environment for emotional release and the opportunity to share experiences. They also equip participants with practical strategies for managing stress and coping with psychological and professional challenges, thereby mitigating the effects of burnout and professional exhaustion in the current humanitarian situation.

GCMHP affirms that attention to the mental health of frontline workers is an essential part of the quality and sustainability of services provided, as it contributes to enhancing their ability to continue performing their humanitarian role efficiently and effectively, which positively impacts the level of support and care provided to children and adults benefiting from the project's services.
