  • Previews 51

As part of its efforts to enhance the quality of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services in the Gaza Strip, GCMHP participated in delivering specialized training on the MHPSS Minimum Service Package (MSP). This initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Gaza MHPSS Technical Working Group and involved representatives from organizations active in the field.

The training was supported technically by the MSP Help Desk and the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) MHPSS Reference Group. It aimed to strengthen the knowledge and technical capacities of organizations and practitioners, while supporting the implementation of core interventions and approved standards for delivering MHPSS services in humanitarian contexts.

The training sought to enhance the ability of organizations and staff to implement the MSP, identify response gaps, and improve service quality. Additionally, it aimed to foster coordination and integration among stakeholders in Gaza, thereby contributing to a response that is more effective and aligned with the population's growing needs.

GCMHP’s participation in this training reflects its ongoing role in leading the technical working group, building the capacity of specialized personnel, advancing professional practices, and strengthening collaboration and coordination among organizations working in the MHPSS sector. This participation also reflects the program's commitment to contributing to the provision of professional, safe, and high-quality services that meet the needs of crisis-affected individuals and families in the Gaza Strip, and support their right to access appropriate mental health and psychosocial support services.
