GCMHP conducted an interactive session targeting a group of adolescents. The session aimed to enhance their ability to express their emotions in an artistic and safe manner, foster their creativity, help them identify and name their feelings, and build self-confidence and respect for the diverse emotions of others. This activity was part of the project ""Improving the Availability of Youth and their Caregivers to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Quality Services in Gaza Strip." This project was implemented in partnership with the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation - Enabel, and funded by the Belgian Government.
The session included an opening activity on the meanings of colors and their relationship to emotions. Following this, each adolescent created an artwork expressing their inner feelings using watercolors, with ample space for free expression and creativity.
At the end of the session, the adolescents presented their artwork and discussed their paintings and the emotions and ideas they conveyed. The atmosphere was characterized by interaction and enthusiasm, particularly during the process of mixing and selecting colors. The session also demonstrated a diversity of artistic expression styles, while some young people needed encouragement and support to freely choose colors that express their thoughts and feelings.
