GCMHP conducted a group counseling and psychosocial support session for 15 young women. This session was part of the project "Improving the Availability of Youth and their Caregivers to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Quality Services in Gaza Strip." This project was implemented in partnership with the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation - Enabel, and funded by the Belgian Government.
The session focused on raising the young women's awareness of the concept of psychological stress, its sources, and its effects. It also aimed to equip them with healthy coping skills and strategies through interactive activities, relaxation exercises, and deep breathing techniques. Participants also learned positive coping mechanisms and how to seek support when needed.
The session saw active participation from the young women, who shared their experiences of the stress and challenges they face and learned practical methods to enhance their resilience and maintain their psychological well-being. The session concluded by emphasizing the importance of dealing with stress in a healthy way and seeking psychological support when needed, while introducing them to the available psychological support services, including the telephone counseling number 1800222333.
