“GCMHP Enhances Specialists' Skills in Family Counseling and Needs Assessment”

  • Previews 41

As part of its ongoing efforts to build the capacity of mental health and psychosocial support professionals, GCMHP—in collaboration with SOS Children's Villages—conducted specialized training on "family counseling skills and mechanisms for assessing family needs," attended by 22 psychologists and social workers.

The training aimed to enhance participants' skills in assessing family needs and providing appropriate counseling and support—particularly for families caring for unaccompanied survivors or children separated from their families—thereby improving the quality of psychosocial services provided to them.

The training served as a professional forum for participants to exchange expertise and practical experiences and to strengthen their ability to address diverse family needs, ultimately supporting the delivery of counseling and psychosocial interventions better tailored to the requirements of families and children across various circumstances.
