GCMHP continues to implement a series of psychosocial support sessions and interactive, recreational activities for adolescent girls. These initiatives aim to provide a safe and supportive space where the girls can express their emotions, alleviate psychological distress, reclaim moments of joy, and connect with their peers.
These activities are part of the project, "Improving the Availability of Youth and their Caregivers to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Quality Services in Gaza Strip." in partnership with the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation - Enabel, and funded by the Belgian Government.
The activities included a variety of recreational games and interactive exercises that encouraged the girls to engage, communicate, and work as a team. These exercises helped them express their feelings and needs in safe, positive ways, fostering self-confidence, developing communication skills, and strengthening their ability to cope with the pressures and challenges surrounding them.
These sessions offer adolescent girls the opportunity to spend positive time with their peers in a supportive environment, away from the prevailing tension and daily stressors, thereby enhancing their sense of belonging, connection, and mutual support.
The atmosphere during the sessions was marked by a high level of engagement and participation; the girls found these activities to be a valuable opportunity for self-expression, sharing moments of joy, and strengthening positive bonds with one another.
