On Monday, September 29, 2025, the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme (GCMHP) conducted an awareness session for displaced women in a displacement camp in Deir Al-Balah. The session, titled “TheImportanceofMentalHealthandtheMostCommon DisordersDuringWar,”targeted25womenandlastedfor two hours.
The session began with a set of introductory exercises, followed by an explanation of the concept of mental health,itsimportance,anditsimpactonpersonal,family, and professional functioning. Participants were introduced to the link between mental and physical health,aswellaskeywarningsigns—suchaschangesin mood and thinking—that may indicate declining psychological well-being.
The session also addressed the most common mental health disorders during wartime, including depression and anxiety, and discussed how to identify early symptoms. The meeting concluded with an open discussion where participants asked questions and receivedindividualguidance.
