GCMHP conducted three awareness-raising meetings targeting 42 shelter managers in Khan Younis Governorate. These meetings aimed to introduce GCMHP, its community centers, and the mental health services it provides. They also highlighted the importance of early psychosocial intervention in supporting the most vulnerable groups, including women, children, and victims of violence, and to strengthen the role of shelters as active partners in community mental health.
The meetings also explored opportunities for collaboration with shelters to support beneficiaries through GCMHP teams, including field support. Interactive activities such as debriefing and group discussions were also conducted to foster interaction, understand field needs, and exchange experiences among shelter managers.
At the end of the meetings, participants expressed their sincere gratitude to GCMHP for providing this important opportunity to understand and discuss mental health issues and the nature of the services offered.
