  • Previews 6

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote mental health amidst the current humanitarian crisis, GCMHP conducted two awareness sessions targeting women in displacement camps, under the title "Expressing Emotions Healthily." These sessions were part of GCMHP's programs aimed at mitigating psychological impacts and strengthening coping mechanisms and resilience among the most vulnerable groups.

The first session was attended by 24 women, while the second session included 25. The activities began with an introduction to the program, its specialized services, and the target groups. Interactive and physical activities were also implemented to break the ice and create a safe space for dialogue and active participation.

The sessions focused on empowering participants to understand and express their emotions in healthy and balanced ways, avoiding repression or excessive emotional reactions. This was achieved by exploring the different types of emotions and their importance, and by presenting practical tools to help manage and cope with emotions positively under the daily pressures imposed by displacement.

The women's contributions reflected a high level of engagement and interest, as they were encouraged to adopt mental health support strategies and promote a culture of seeking help when needed.

The sessions concluded with an emphasis on the importance of utilizing psychological support and counseling services. Participants were provided with contact information and the program's toll-free number for counseling services, ensuring continued access to specialized psychological support.
