As part of its ongoing commitment to the well-being of humanitarian workers, GCMHP, in partnership with TRC, conducted a series of psychological support and recovery sessions for professionals working both within and outside the program. The aim was to strengthen their ability to cope and build resilience in the face of increasing professional and humanitarian pressures.
These sessions were a response to the growing need for safe spaces for emotional release and professional support, particularly for frontline workers who face complex challenges and high levels of psychological stress daily due to the nature of their work with affected populations.
The sessions were led by a team of GCMHP consultants: Dr. Rawya Hammam, Ms. Khitam Abu Shawarib, and Mr. Osama Farina. Participants were divided into small groups to ensure effective interaction, and each group received at least three sessions focused on psychological recovery skills, stress management, and building resilience.
The sessions were characterized by an interactive atmosphere built on trust and mutual support, providing participants with the opportunity to share their experiences and express their feelings. They also engaged in practical exercises and utilized support tools designed to improve their mental health and enhance their professional performance.
Through this activity, GCMHP reaffirms its commitment to supporting humanitarian workers, recognizing them as a cornerstone of service delivery, and its dedication to fostering a healthy and sustainable work environment that positively impacts the quality of care provided to beneficiaries.
